Award Winning Design

This Award winning illustration was designed to commemorate the classic shows on CBS. These shows were some of the most celebrated show of all time according to communication art magazine. I like the use of colors and the iconic symbols used to convey the classic shows on CBS. Brilliant!

Chicago Print

I really like the look of the image. At first glance you don't notice the word Chicago embedded in the finger print.

Lady Sings the Blues

My first thought when I saw this picture is Lady Sings the Blues, perhaps its because she's blue and she's singing. (lol) But I really like the cool, calming effect it evokes. The background samples monochromatic elements with the red and orange tones, which provide a warmth to the overall picture. I also like that the yellow spot behind the women looks like she's wearing a hat on her head, but perhaps it suppose to be a spot light behind her. I wouldn't mind having this picture hung in my home office.

Black Spot

Today in class we talked about design principles. One design principles I see in the image is emphasis in size and shape. The black spot is the focal point of the picture because if its size and shape. The shape of the arm/wrist is rectangular, which is in contrast to the shape of the spot/circle. I also enjoy the black and white color element which creates unity by color.
